Dear All,

The Department of Earth, Ocean & Atmospheric Science (EOAS) at Florida State University invites applications for a Dean’s Teaching Postdoctoral Fellowship. Eligible candidates should have a PhD in the field of Mineral Physics. Candidates should have completed their Ph.D. within the last four year.

Researchers in the Mineral Physics group at the Earth Materials Laboratory are interested in exploring the structure and dynamics of the Earth Materials and relate them to physical properties such as elasticity. The lab based atomistic scale observation will be eventually correlated with the large-scale geophysical observations to gain insight into the physical state and chemistry of the deep Earth. The ideal candidate has a background in experimental Mineral Physics. In particular, expertise in vibrational spectroscopy at extreme conditions will be useful.

The post-doctoral fellow is expected to teach an undergraduate course for geology and environmental science students during their second year at FSU. This will allow the fellow to develop teaching expertise and prepare them for an academic career.

Salary is $47,658 per annum. Health insurance is provided at no cost to the fellow.

Applicants should upload a CV, a statement of interest that addresses both research and teaching plans, and the names and contact information for three professional references using FSU’s electronic submission system at http://jobs.fsu.edu <http://jobs.fsu.edu/>, job title M9189 (https://jobs.omni.fsu.edu/psc/sprdhr_er/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/HRS_HRAM.HRS_APP_SCHJOB.GBL?Page=HRS_APP_SCHJOB&Action=U&FOCUS=Applicant&SiteId=1).

Review of applications will begin December 1, 2017. Inquiries should be addressed to mmookherjee at fsu.edu.

Florida State University is an Equal Opportunity/Access/Affirmative Action/Pro Disabled & Veteran Employer. FSU’s Equal Opportunity Statement can be viewed at: http://www.hr.fsu.edu/PDF/Publications/diversity/EEO_Statement.pdf <http://www.hr.fsu.edu/PDF/Publications/diversity/EEO_Statement.pdf>
